Please take these safety precautions i nto consideration under the following conditions :
Under normal circum stances, Reservation Mode is cancelled
when a door or hatchback opens. Pl ease verify that the opening
of any door or hatchback cancel s Reservati on Mode. I f any of the doors or hatchback
are not monitored by the CompuStar because of impr oper installation or a faulty dome
light switch, do not use the the CompuStar and take your vehicle immediately to the
dealer for repair . Do not set Reservation Mode if the window(s) ar e open or if there is
anyone inside the vehi cl e, this includes animals. Remote star t installation in a manual
transm ission vehicle with a convertible top is not recom mended.

1. Servicing the vehicle
W hen servicing your automobile ( i.e. changing the oil, washing your car) , the
Compustar system should be in V alet Mode. There is a safety shutdown swi tch under
the hood that deactivates the rem ote starter function i f the hood is open.
However, if the switch has been damaged or the switch has been installed impr operly,
the vehicle may start w hen the button is pressed for 2 seconds, even if the hood is
open.
2. Loaning your vehicle to others
Whenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not f amili ar with Compustar,
you m ay want to put the vehicl e in V alet mode. This will prevent the borrower from
accidentally activating the Com pustar auto-secur ity system.
3. For manual transmission vehicles
If the C ompustar is installed in a manual transmission vehicle, extra pr ecautions are
requir ed because the Compustar does not monitor the gear shi fter :
