5.   ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 

 
1.   Remove all packaging and timber. 

2.   Remove parts from inside the firebox. 

3.   Remove castings from under the fire 

4.   Position the fire onto the floor protector, using the necessary final 
clearances presented on Page 5.   

5.   At this point a hole in the ceiling to accommodate the flue may be cut and 
the liners installed. 

6.   Check the baffle bricks are fitted correctly. The front of the baffle bricks 
placed on the air tube in the top chamber and the back of the bricks pushed 
back as far as possible to the back of the top chamber and resting on the back 
wall bricks. 

7.    Replace the rear top casting and refit the front top casting ensuring it fits 
neatly onto the rope seal in the top channel. 

8.   A stainless steel circular ‘shim’ (a round device used to assist with sitting 
the flue pipe into the spigot on the rear top cast) is provided to use if required.  

9.  Assemble and fit flue as per instructions (page 7 & 8).  A 
flue shield must be fitted. 

10.  Secure both the wood-burner and floor protector to the 
floor for seismic restraint as shown on page 6 (below).  

11.  Fit door knob. »»» 

 

12.  Fit the control knob - place the flat on the knob to the flat 
on the air control shaft situated on the right handside of the 
fire.  Press home firmly. 

 

 

 

FITTING SEISMIC RESTRAINT 

BRACKETS ON CONTESSA 

 

1.   Place firebox with leg assembly 
      on the floor protector and locate as 
      per appropriate clearances. 
2.   Fit the restraint brackets. 
3.   Secure both the floor protector and 
      the appliance to the floor using a  
      suitable anchor.
