Document 50327    Rev D1   1/14/99   P/N 50327:D1

The LCD-40 Series is capable of displaying English-language text of
system point status including device type, independent point alarm,
trouble or supervisory, zone and custom alpha labels programmed into
the control panel.  The LCD-40 Series also provide system status LEDs
to display Power, Alarm, Trouble and Supervisory conditions.  The
LCD-40 is capable of performing system acknowledge, silence, drill
and reset remotely while the LCD-40L does not have these features.

Communication between the control panel and the LCD-40 Series is
accomplished over a two-wire serial interface employing the EIA-485
communication standard.  Up to 32 annunciators may be connected to
the two-wire EIA-485 circuit.  The annunciators may be powered from
the host FACP or remote UL listed, filtered, power supplies.
