7.2 Cleaning of Orthosis Shoes Made of Fabric
Remove minor soiling with a soft brush or a damp cloth. In case of
severe soiling, you can wash the orthosis shoe in the washing machine
for 30 minutes at 30°C without spin cycle (fig. 7). Use a laundry net as
well as neutral soap or vinegar water. Close the hook and loop fasten-
ers before washing so that they will not become matted. Afterwards,
stuff the orthosis shoe with newspaper and let it dry.
7.3 Cleaning of Orthosis Shoes Made of Nubuck Leather
Brush the shaft thoroughly. To do so, use a special nubuck leather brush made of
velour. Furthermore, the orthosis shoe should be regularly covered with an impreg-
nation spray that protects the shoe against moisture. In order to preserve the colour
freshness, we recommend using an impregnation spray that matches the colour of
the leather. Please refer to the manual of the respective product for the frequency of
application. Shoes made of nubuck leather should not be greased, since the grease
cannot be absorbed by the material.
Slight soiling can be removed with a damp cloth. However, avoid exposing your
orthosis shoe to heavy moisture. You should also keep it away from intense sunlight.
8. Disposal
Orthosis shoes can be disposed of as residual waste (fig. 8). The
orthosis shoe must be disposed of in particular in the event of
damages or severe signs of wear.
9. CE Conformity
We declare that our medical devices as well as our accessories
for medical devices are in conformity with the requirements of Regulation (EU)
2017/745. Therefore, the FIOR
