Remove the base runner [14.1].
f
Release the lever [14.4] again.
f
Insert a copying ring [14.3] in the correct posi-
f
tion on the router base.
Insert the tabs [14.2] on a base runner into the
f
router base.
Push down the base runner until it engages in
f
the router base.
The overhang Y of the workpiece in relation the
template [Fig. 15] is calculated as follows:
Y = ½ (diameter of copying ring minus diameter of
routing bit)
c) Edge trimming
Routing tools with a bearing guide are required
when the machine is used for edge trimming. The
machine is then guided in such a way that the
bearing guide rolls off the workpiece.
When trimming edges, always use the chip defl ec-
tor KSF-OF to improve dust extraction.
d) Routing with a guide system FS
The guide system (partly as an accessory) makes
it easier to route straight grooves.
Secure the guide rail to the workpiece using
f
clamps [16.4].
Insert the base runner [16.3] for the guide stop
f
into the router base (see "Changing the base
runner").
This base runner is offset to compensate for
L
the height of the guide rail.
Secure both guide rods [16.6] with the rotary
f
knobs [16.5] and [16.9] on the guide stop.
Unscrew the rotary knob [16.1].
f
Insert the guide rods [16.6] into the grooves on
f
the router base.
Place the router with the guide stop on the
f
guide rail.
If required, you can adjust the play of the guide
f
stop on the guide rail by adjusting the two guid-
ance jaws [16.2] with a screwdriver.
Slide the router along the guide rods until the
f
routing tool reaches the required distance X
from the guide rail.
Screw up the rotary knob [16.1].
f
Unscrew the rotary knob [16.10].
f
Turn the adjusting wheel [16.7] to adjust dis-
f
tance X more precisely.
Hold the adjusting wheel [16.7] to turn the
L
scale [16.8] independently to "zero".
Screw up the rotary knob [16.10].

tive foil!
8.3 Aluminium processing
WARNING
Risk of accident - always perform the following
safety measures when routing aluminium:
Add a residual-current circuit-breaker (FI,
f
PRCD).
Connect the machine to a suitable dust ex-
f
tractor.
Remove dust deposits from the motor hous-
f
ing on a regular basis.
Wear protective goggles.
