2.1.3 Number of assigned stations
When ascertaining the number of stations required, observe
the rules on addressing in section 2.1.2 as well as the
examples in section 2.1.4.
As a factot of the number of selected stations per slave, a
nominal/actual comparison is made of the assigned address
range in the starting phase of the field bus node.
If the number of stations selected by means of DIL switches is
less than the recognized periphery, the SF LED on the field
bus node will flash.
If the recognized periphery and thereby the number of sta
tions required is less than the number of stations selected by
means of DIL switches, this is left to the decision of the user
and is not interpreted as a fault.
