During each servicing process

Check the axial play of the slide (wear of spindle nut).
Maximum axial play permitted is:
DMES−25
DMES−40
0.62 mm
1.0 mm
If the maximum permitted axial play is exceeded
Warning
If a worn spindle nut breaks on a vertically or diagonally fiitted DMES−...,
the work mass will fall down. Uncontrolled moving masses can cause injury
to people or damage to property (danger of fingers being squashed).

Send the DMES−... to Festo for repairs.
S
Make sure that the connection between
the driver and the slide is set free of play
and tension.
Fig.32 shows the critical points.
Play−free setting is accomplished with the
slide screws

Repairs

Make sure that the DMES−... is overhauled only by our repair service.
The repair procedure requires settings with very fine adjustments.
