8 - TECHNICAL DATA

8.1 Charger Specifications

The Ferno 24/36VDC battery charger (Figure 71) is capable

of charging the iN∫X battery either directly or through the

Integrated Charging System (ICS).
The battery charger is also capable of charging a 24 VDC

Ferno® POWERFlexx® POWERPac. See the battery charger

users' manual for details.

8.2 iN

∫

X Battery Specifications

The iN∫X battery (Figure 72) is a rechargeable, 36-Volt

DC battery. The input port is proprietary to Ferno and is

compatible only with the Ferno battery charger.

WARNING

Charging an improper battery can cause injury and

damage. Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries. The

Ferno 24/36VDC battery charger is compatible only with

the iN

∫

X battery or Ferno POWERPac and ICS systems.

Charge lead-acid batteries only in a well-ventilated area

(Only Ferno POWERFlexx® POWERPac batteries are lead-acid

type).

The appliance (battery charger) is not intended for use

by people (including children) with reduced physical,

sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and

knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person

responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not

play with the appliance (battery charger).
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by

a special cord or assembly available from Ferno or an

authorized Ferno distributor or service center.

LEGAL NOTICE

The Ferno 24/36VDC battery charger is not compatible with,

or designed to charge automobile batteries. However, the

following notice is required by CE standards:

The battery terminal not connected to the chassis must be

connected first. The second connection must be made to the

chassis, remote from the battery and fuel line. The battery

charger is then to be connected to the supply mains.
After charging, disconnect the battery charger from the supply

mains. Then remove the chassis connection and then the

battery connection.
