The unique shape of the feelers is designed for best performance on both
forming fabrics and press felts. The high spring load gives an excellent
reproducibility and makes the results highly independent from the person
performing the measurement.
Accuracy, reproducibility and reliability in a paper mill environment; these were
the design objectives. Electronics, components and mechanics, every single
part meets these objectives. The result is a highly dedicated instrument for any
professional dealing with paper machine clothing.
The ergonomic and rigid design is equally suitable for left and right handed
people. The red trigger has two functions: pulling the trigger opens the mouth
of the instrument; pushing the trigger starts recording the measured values into
memory (Caliper Profiler) or freezes the momentary value at the display (Caliper
Gauge) so that one can read the result safely outside the fabric’s run.
The Feltest Caliper Gauges are designed for use in the corrosive environment
of paper mills. They withstand spray-water, dust and mechanical shocks.
They can be stored without cleaning and are practically maintenance-free.
The instrument is supplied in a custom made suitcase, together with a
multilingual manual with calculation examples, tables and standard felt
compaction curves. The Caliper Profiler also comes with a PC connection
cable and software to download data to your PC. Every instrument comes with
a calibration certificate.
