These settings allow you to force higher formats that not all of your devices support. This has
consequences: If an HDMI sink does not support the video format, the signal will not be pro-
cessed there. You will get no signal there. If only the audio format is not supported, this device
remains mute.
Please note:
•
Many media players also offer a manual selection of video resolution and audio format.
Mostly, however, the format can only be reduced with this.
•
A display with an unusual video resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ or for 3D video can be used
optimally if its EDID is copied (mode 13 to 16).
•
If the source outputs an Ultra HD video to the TV, it can be used for another downscaler can
be switched on for another television that can only display Full HD.
•
If an EDID setting forces HDR video output in Dolby Vision, Full-HD screens cannot dis-
play it correctly (not even downscaled). The Full-HD picture is often magenta-coloured and
distorted.
