Intended use of the sub base.
The sub bases are intended for stationary assembly of
GI100, GIE, GXE grinding machines in weather-pro-
tected environments.
Special safety instructions.
Ensure stable positioning and a level set-up of the sub
base.
Fasten the sub base to the floor. If the sub base tips
over during working, this can cause serious injuries.
(figures 1 + 2)
Use suitable mounting material to mount the machine to
the sub base.
Faulty assembly can cause the machine to
loosen from the sub base during operation and lead to
serious accidents.
Before switching on, make sure that all clamping levers
of the sub base are well tightened.
If the machine sud-
denly drops or lowers, this can lead to serious accidents.
GIXBE:
The plug of the extraction system may only be installed
by a qualified electrician.
The protective conductor in
the mains socket must be connected to the protective
earthing of the mains supply.
Pull the mains plug for maintenance and repairs!
If the
extraction device is switched on unintentionally, this can
lead to serious injuries.
Have the electrical safety of the extraction system
checked regularly in accordance with statutory provi-
sions.
For systems that have not been checked, there is
danger of electric shock!

Assembly instructions (figures 1 + 2).
Fasten the sub base to the floor using suitable
dowel/bolt connections. The connections must
withstand the forces that arise during working.
Place the machine to be mounted onto the rest (
2
).
Because of the risk of accidents, this work must be
carried out by persons who are physically able to lift
the high machine weight.
Fasten the machine to the rest with the correspond-
ing fastening bolts (
12
).
Faulty assembly can cause the machine to tip over during
operation and lead to serious accidents.
GIXBE: Mount the extraction hose (
4
) to the machine’s
extraction sleeve and tighten the hose clamp (
3
).
Electrical connection (GIXBE).
Observe mains voltage:
The mains voltage and the fre-
quency of the power source must agree with the data
onthe type plate of the machine.
Plug the mains plug of the extraction system into the
socket outlet on the machine provided for this purpose.
Operating instructions.
Switching on and off (GIXBE).
The extraction system is switched on and off with the
On/Off switch (
1
).
Emptying the collection box/
Replacing filter inserts (figure 4).
Undo the locks (
5
) and open the door (
6
).
Undo lock latch (
11
) and completely pull out the filter
unit. Remove both filter inserts (
8
)/(
9
) from the frame
(
7
).
Clean the filter inserts with compressed air and empty
the collection box.
Before emptying, the contents of the chip/grinding-dust
box must have cooled down sufficiently and may only be
disposed of in suitable containers.
Place the cleaned filter inserts (
8
)/(
9
) into the frame (
7
)
with the correct side facing upward.
Slide the filter unit into the guide and allow lock latch (
11
)
to engage.
Close the door (
6
).

Repair and customer service.
Repairs may be carried out only by qualified per-
sons in conformity with the valid regulations.
For repairs, we recommend our FEIN customer service
centre, the FEIN authorised service centres and FEIN
agencies.
GIXBE: When the machine’s power supply cable is dam-
aged, it must be replaced using a specially prepared
power supply cable, available from your FEIN customer
service agent.
