4. To maximize aerodynamic efficiency and high-speed stability, it is recommend that the
lightbar be mounted with a one-inch or greater gap between the bottom edge of the lightbar
and the roof. On a high-crowned roof, one inch may not be possible. In this case, adjust the
lightbar as high as possible. Adjust the mounting feet on the mounting bracket as needed.
5. Check to ensure that the lightbar is level front-to-back. If it is not, adjust the level by
rotating the lightbar in the mounting bracket slots. Tighten all eight 5/16 Torx head bolts that
fasten the mounting feet to the mounting brackets.
6. Using the mounting brackets as a template, scribe two drill-position marks on each side of
the lightbar.
7. Remove the lightbar assembly from the vehicle roof. To avoid marring the plastic domes,
place the lightbar on soft rags or cardboard.
8. Turn the lightbar assembly over so that the bottom of the assembly faces up. Secure the
mounting assembly to the lightbar using the eight #10 hex head thread-forming screws.
9. Tighten the 3/8-16 hex nuts (two on each mounting bracket) installed in step 7 of
Preparing
the Lightbar for Installation
. Place the lightbar assembly on the vehicle roof in the previously
determined position.

DRILLING PRECAUTIONS
Before drilling holes, check the area you are drilling into to be sure you do not damage
vehicle components while drilling. All drilled holes should be deburred and all sharp
edges should be smoothed. All wire routings going through drilled holes should be
protected by a grommet or convoluted/split loom tubing.
1. Before drilling, move the lightbar assembly out of the way. Drill four 1/2-inch diameter holes
at the scribed drill position marks.
2. Insert a toggle bolt in each of the four drilled holes and seal the holes with RTV. Slide two
rubber mounting pads over each bolt as you insert it
(Figure 4
on page 5)
.
Use caution to
avoid dropping the bolts through the holes before the rubber mounting pads are installed.
3. Place the mounting brackets down over the ends of the toggle bolts and secure them with the
jam nuts (
Figure 4 on page 5
). Tighten the jam nut just until the rubber pad begins to bulge.
Do not exceed a torque of 60 in-lb.
