Safety Messages to Installers and Users
:
Product should be installed by a licensed electrician and
follow all safety instructions. Failure to do so may result in property damage, serious injury, or death.
• To avoid electrical shock hazards, do not connect wires when power is applied.
• To be an effective warning device, this product produces bright light that could be hazardous to eyesight.
Do not stare directly at the light. Rapid flashing could induce photosensitive epilepsy.
• Never alter the unit in any manner. Safety in hazardous locations may be endangered if additional
openings or alternations are made.
• WARNING - EXPLOSION HAZARD: Do not disconnect the equipment unless power has been switched
off or the area is known to be non-hazardous. To reduce the risk of ignition due to electrostatic discharge,
avoid contact with the unit while an explosive atmosphere is present. Clean only with a damp cloth. Do
not use chemical cleaners.
Overview:
FB2LEDX Series can be programmed to produce one
of three light patterns: steady, 60 FPM, and 120 FPM (preset to
60 FPM). Units are available in 12-24VDC or 120-240VAC.

Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D (T5); Class II, Division
2, Groups F and G (T6); Class III (T6); or non-hazardous
locations only

(T5); Class II, Zone 22 (T85); or non-hazardous locations only

• Electrical ratings: 0.48A - 0.24A (12-24VDC) or 0.03A (120-240VAC 50/60HZ)
• Certified Operating Temperature: -40°F to 150°F (-40°C to 66°C)
Unpacking the Device:
After unpacking the device, examine it for damage and verify parts. Unit comes
with: (1) FB2LEDX assembled unit with guard, flying leads and (1) panel mount gasket, (3) No. 8 x 1/2" panel
mounting tapping screws. If a part is missing or damaged do not attempt to install. Contact Federal Signal

Mounting the Device:
FB2LEDX units come standard to mount on a flat (horizontal or vertical) surface or on
a 1/2" NPT threaded pipe. Wall mounting bracket (LHWB) accessory is sold separately.
• Warning - Explosion Hazard –
To reduce the risk of fire or explosion, do not install the unit in a
hazardous location if the operating temperature exceeds the atmosphere’s ignition temperature. Consult
product nameplate to determine the temperature code of the unit.
• Pipe Mounting –
FB2LEDX Series can be pipe mounted on a 1/2" NPT pipe. Feed wires through pipe and
turn clockwise to tighten. Recommended tightening torque is 5-ft-lbs (6.8 N-m).
• Surface/Panel Mounting –
Using provided gasket as a template, mark three mounting holes and center
hole for wiring. Drill or punch 0.188" (5.0mm) diameter holes for mounting and a .88" (22.0mm) for wiring.
Set base on gasket, feed wires through center hole, and attach to the mounting surface using provided
No. 8 tapping screws from the underside.
