HECKLIST
Before towing, double-check all of these items:
•
Tires, wheels and lug nut tightness (torque) (see
the “Safety Information” section of this
manual).
•
Tire Pressure. Inflate tires on trailer and tow
vehicle to value indicated on Certification /
VIN label.
•
Coupler secured and locked ball (see the
“Coupling to the Tow Vehicle” section of this
manual).
•
Safety chains properly rigged to tow vehicle,
not to hitch or ball (see the “Coupling to the
Tow Vehicle” section of this manual).
•
Test Tail, Stop, and Turn Lights.
•
Test trailer brakes.
•
Safety breakaway switch lanyard fastened to
tow vehicle, not to safety chains (see the
“Coupling to the Tow Vehicle” section of this
manual).
•
Cargo properly loaded, balanced and tied
down” (see the “Loading The Trailer” section
of this manual).
•
Tongue weight and weight distribution set-up.
•
Doors and gates latched and secured.
•
Lock all doors that are equipped with keyed
locks.
•
Fire extinguisher.
•
Flares and reflectors.

After each 50 miles, or one hour of towing, stop
and check the following items:
•
Coupler secured.
•
Safety chains are fastened and not dragging.
•
Cargo secured.
•
Cargo door latched and secured.
•
Check tires for signs of abnormal wear and
loss of air pressure.
