Step 6.
Install Flow Monitor
:
a.
Insert washer into female end of
Flow
Monitor
and carefully screw onto water
heater hot water discharge nipple with arrow
pointing up in the direction of flow (one extra
washer is included with
Flow Monitor
).
Note:
Flow Monitor
can be installed in the
cold water line. Please see instructions below
for changing the direction of the
Flow Monitor
.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
.
Step 7.
Install Pump
a.
Wrap Teflon tape and/or apply pipe dope to the male threads of the
Flow Monitor
.
b.
Slip the threaded side of one of the unions over the male end of the
Flow Monitor
.
c.
Place washer on union, set pump on washer with arrow pointing in
the direction of flow (the arrow is on the side of the silver part of the
pump).
d.
Then thread large side of union onto the pump and tighten. Make
sure the arrow on the silver part of the pump is facing in the
direction of flow and that no part of the pump is touching the water
heater exhaust.
e.
Place washer on outlet side of pump and screw union set on pump.
f.
Apply Teflon tape and/or pipe dope on one side of a
¾”
brass
nipple and screw into pump union. Tighten union onto nipple.
g.
Screw
¾”
supply line on other end of nipple (do not use Teflon tape
or pipe dope).
h.
Connect wire from
Flow Monitor
to the rocker switch in the pump’s
electric cord and place rocker switch in the “
Auto
”
or
“
II bar
”
position.
i.
The installation should look like picture on next page.
