Operation - 13” Conventional Auger

86

RAISING / LOWERING  AUGER

Always raise or lower the auger on a flat and level 
area.

Clear the area of bystanders, especially small 
children, before starting.

IMPORTANT

Do not move the auger while in the raised position.

Be sure there is enough clearance from overhead 
obstructions and power lines or other equipment.

Attach the auger to the tractor (see Hitching And 
Unhitching Auger on 

page 84

).

Place chocks in the front and rear of each wheel.

WARNING

Always raise or lower the auger while hitched to 
a tractor or approved transport unit.

Never attempt to raise or lower the auger during 
operation.

Never place blocks under the wheels to increase 
the elevation of auger.

Keep wheels of undercarriage level and on firm 
ground.

DANGER

ELECTROCUTION HAZARD

To prevent serious injury or death from 
electrocution:

• 

Be aware of overhead power lines.

• 

Electrocution can occur without direct contact.
