Setting up the Tube 5

WARNING!

To avoid electrical shock or any other damage, make sure that the Tube 5
and all other devices are switched off before you start connecting them to the
amplifi er!

Power Connections/Mains

Before connecting to a grounded power outlet, make
sure the power switch (on the backpanel) is in the
off position (facing up). The Tube 5 is set up for 230
V of line voltage. Once the amplifi er is plugged in,
you can get started!

Connecting an electric guitar

The input jack on the left side of the front panel
receives your electric guitar signal by means of a
shielded guitar cord with 1/4” mono style plug.
Make sure the master volume of the amplifi er is set
to the lowest position to avoid disturbing noise while
connecting.

Speaker protection

The Tube 5 has a built-in 8” speaker. It can be
damaged by heavy feedbacks of the connected
instruments. You should always keep a suffi cient dis-
tance to the amplifi er to avoid such feedbacks. This
will extend the life of the speaker and the power amp.

Traveling Abroad

If traveling to countries outside the EU, always check
their local voltage before operating the Tube 5.
Mismatched voltages can and most likely will destroy
your amplifi er. Should you encounter voltages and
frequencies other than those indicated, a transformer
must be used between the power socket and the
Tube 5. This transformer must be able to transform the
voltage and frequency to one of the indicated settings.

Main Fuse

The main fuse is situated inside the amplifi er‘s cabi-
net. You should never change it by yourself. Always
ask an experienced technician to do this job.

Maintenance

The built-in power amp tubes need to be changed
after 2-3 years, depending on the usage of the unit.
This must be done by a technician. He can set the
power amp‘s bias (tube voltage) to the right level to
improve the best sound possible for the amplifi er.
