POSITIONING AND MOUNTING THE ANTENNA

Find a suitable position on the roof of your vehicle. Please ensure

that you have selected the correct position suitable for hole into

the interior of the vehicle and that it is suitable for a cable entry and

is clear of any obstructions.  Cabinets and cupboards are usually a

preference to ensure a tidy installation.  Also ensure that if it will be

mounted near any other antennas on the roof to give a reasonable

distance between them to avoid any interference.

Requirements:

1.  Drill

2.  Pilot Drill-bit  2 - 3mm  (for the antenna base screws)

3.  Hole Cutter / Arbor - 20mm ( For the central cable entry hole)

4.  Sealant

5.  Pencil

6.  Masking Tape

7.  Ladder

Prepare and drill hole:

Once the position has been decided within the vehicle for the router

to be placed, check the roof area above to ensure it is clear of any

obstructions or cabling.  Drill a pilot hole from the inside of your

vehicle up through the roof,  check that the hole created is correct on

the roof of the vehicle. Then use a 20mm hole cutter to and cut from

the inside of the vehicle to just about break the surface of the roof

panel.  Then move to the roof of the vehicle and drill downwards to

complete a clean cut.

Remove any swarf and clean around the hole thoroughly so the

antenna and the adhesive can bond correctly with the surface.   If the

surface area is metal apply some petroleum jelly or paint around the

hole to prevent corrosion.
