The Fakir fan heater
Handy L
is suitable for use as a portable heater in
living rooms. It is plugged into a socket with 230V / 50Hz AC.
Operating
• Unwind the mains connection lead and plug it into the socket.
• Turn the thermostat control (
A
) to the right (clockwise).
• Switch on the unit at the rotary switch (
C
), the pilot light (
B
) comes on.
Turn the rotary switch (C) to the required stage:

= OFF
stage

= fan (turn the room thermostat control all the way right)
stage
1
= heating 1000 watt
stage
2
= heating 2000 watt
During setting of the switch to the above stages, the pilot light comes on. The heater and
the pilot light are switched off in the “
0
” position.
Room thermostat
The temperature can be adjusted to any setting using the room thermostat control (
A
).
Setting:
max. temperature
= turn to the right (clockwise)
min. temperature
= turn to the left (counterclockwise)
• Turn the thermostat control all the way to the right (clockwise).
• When the room is at the temperature you find agreeable, turn the control to the left
(counterclockwise) heater the unit cuts out.
• When the room temperature drops, the heaer will switch back on automatically.
Frost guard setting
Turn the thermostat control (
A
) to the frost guard setting so that the room temperature will
not drop below approx. +5°C (for instance when absent for an extended period). The
appliance will then automatically switch itself on at approx. +5°C, and off at +7°C, there-
by preventing frost damage.
Overheat safety cut-out
An overheat safety cut-out turns off the appliance in the event of a technical fault or if the
heater is not being used properly.
If the cut-out has been activated, then turn the selector switch knob (
C
) to the “0” setting,
disconnect the heater from the mains, and remedy the fault or ensure that the heater is
being properly used.
The overheat safety cut-out is reactivated after a short cooling down period, and the hea-
ter can once again be operated.
NOTE:
The outflowing air must not be obstructed by any object.
After use
• Switch off hte appliance and disconnect the plug from the mains socket.
