Protection fuses
To effectively protect the QC-PDS system, fuses must be installed.
The following are mandatory:
the installation of external protection fuses on the mains lines.
Figure
of this chapter shows their location.
Also, the installation of external protection fuses on the auxiliary power
supply lines (integrated and external) via the A20 connector, since the
auxiliary power supply does not have any.
6.2.1
Technical data
The fuses installed on the lines that reach the A20 connector of the
auxiliary power supply will be the T type (time lag) to protect it.
Ultra fast fuses are to be installed on mains lines for the protection of
semiconductors, sized according to the installed main power supply.
Depending on the installed main power supply model, they are selected
according to the characteristics indicated in table
, which are the
ones to be met by the fuses that must be installed in the line input of the
QC-PDS system to properly protect it.
The table
lists several fuses made by different manufacturers that
may be used as a reference.
MANDATORY.
It is the machine manufacture’s responsibility to install the
appropriate protection fuses. Keep in mind that these fuses must be
selected specifically for each installation since they will be affected by a
variable number of internal and external machine characteristics.
INFORMATION.
FAGOR does not supply the fuses, i.e., the QC-PDS
system does not include the fuses as accessories.
i
MANDATORY.
Install external protection fuses, as shown in table
on the mains lines.
MANDATORY.
Install the external protection fuses as indicated in table
, on the lines carrying the auxiliary power supply via the A20
connector.
