Congratulations on your choice of the EBS
Fafner, the Tube Armed Bass Head !
The EBS Fafner is one of the most
powerful, versatile and complete bass heads
ever built. With built in tube section and a
super powerful EQ while maintaining that
classic EBS sound, the unit offers an
extremely wide range of possibilities. These
brief tutorials will help you to become ac-
quainted with some of the features of the
EBS Fafner.

ETTING STARTED
...
1. Carefully unpack the bass head.
2. Connect EBS Fafner to your favorit
EBS Evolution Speaker cabinet.
3. Check that the controls are set fully
counter clockwise. Proceed by turning
the three filter knobs marked BASS,
MIDDLE and TREBLE to mid position.
Locate the filter switch and set it to
BYPASS. Now the EBS Fafner’s
settings are "zeroed" and ready to be
personalized.
4. Plug in your bass.
5. Turn on the POWER switch. Wait for
12-15 seconds before turning on the
STANDBY switch to allow the tube to
warm up.
6. While plucking the strings as hard as
you would during your hardest playing,
gradually increase the GAIN knob until
the led starts to flash at peaks.

TT KOMMA IGÅNG
...
1. Packa försiktigt upp basförstärkartoppen
2. Anslut EBS Fafner till din favorit EBS
Evolution Högtalare.
3. Se till att alla kontroller är ställda max
motsols. Fortsätt med att ställa de tre
filterrattarna märkta BASS, MIDDLE
och TREBLE till mittposition. Leta upp
filteromkopplaren och ställ den i läge
BYPASS. Nu är ljudet i EBS Fafner
"nollställt" och redo för att skapa just
ditt personliga sound.
4. Koppla in din bas.
5. Slå på POWER switchen. Vänta sedan
12-15 sekunder innan du slår på
STANDBY switchen för att låta röret
värmas upp.
6. Spela hårt på basen och vrid upp GAIN
ratten tills PEAK dioden börjar blinka.
Än har du inget hörbart ljud, men en
perfekt signal att jobba vidare med.
LINE OUT - This is a fullrange output that
will drive multiple poweramps, extending
the power of the system.
TUNER OUT - This low impedance output
is suitable for driving tuners. The signal
from this output is identical to the
instruments’ signal. The TUNER OUT
output is active even when STANDBY is
off.
POWERAMP - The internal accelerated
poweramp is of the MOSFET design giving
natural sound reproduction and high power
output with exceptional clarity. A passive
limiter protects the power amp from satura-
tion and increases it’s output performance,
operating close to the power headroom
limit.
A unique poweramp cooling system makes
maximum continuous power output
possible, reducing the maximum
temperature of the unit significantly by the
use of the active cooling system
incorporated.
IMPORTANT: Make sure not to cover the
ventilation cutout on the rear and side
panels, and do not mount the unit in a
closed case.

LINE OUT - Denna fullrange utgång kan
driva ytterligare slutsteg för ökad uteffekt i
större system.
TUNER OUT - Denna lågimpedans-
utgång är användbar för t.ex. stämapparat.
Utsignalen är identisk med instrumentets
egen signal och styrka. TUNER OUT är
aktiv även när förstärkaren är i STANDBY
läge.
POWERAMP - Det inbyggd accelererade
slutsteget är av MOSFET-typ som ger ett
naturligt klart ljud med högsta uteffekt. En
intern passiv skyddslimiter förhindrar
slutsteget från att bottna och ökar därmed
ljudtrycket.
Slutstegets unika aktiva kylsystem klarar
maximal uteffekt från slutsteget utan
överhettning.
VIKTIGT: Täck inte för ventila-tionshålen
på bak och sidopaneler. Montera inte heller
in enheten i en sluten låda eller tillstängd
rack.
