To log on

a.   In a web browser, go to 

https://<Mgmt IP 

address, 

if you set up a management network. 

Otherwise use the 

Bridge IP

 address.

b.   In the user authentication popup screen, type  

the user name and password, and click 

OK

.  

The default credentials are:

 

User Name: 

admin

 

Password: 

admin

   The WANJet Setup Utility Welcome screen opens.

To activate the license 

a.   On the WANJet Setup Utility Welcome screen, 

click 

Next

 to open the first License screen.

b.   Click 

Activate

 to open the second License 

screen. In the 

Base Registration Key

 box, your 

registration key appears. If it does not appear, see 
the note below. 

c.  Click 

Next

.

d.   Read the End User License Agreement (EULA), and 

then click 

Accept

 if you agree to the conditions.

Note:

 If automatic license activation does not work, 

you can use manual activation instead. On the 
second License screen, for 

Activation Method

, select 

Manual

 and follow the directions on the screen.

To complete the setup

When the license activation has finished, the 
Platform screen opens.

a.   Verify the 

Management Port 

settings. If you are 

not using a management interface, you must still 
type an IP address and netmask (use fictitious 
ones) to proceed with the setup.

b.   For the 

Host Name

, type a fully qualified domain 

name, for example, 

mywanjet.wanopt.net

c.  Select the local time zone.

d.   Change and confirm the passwords for the 

root

 

and 

Admin

 accounts.

e.  Click 

Next

 to open the Local WANJet screen.

f.   In the 

WANJet Alias

 box, optionally type a 

common name for the WANJet appliance.

g.   If you set up the local WANJet appliance using 

the 

Bridge

 menu on the LCD, verify that the 

addresses you specified appear on this screen.  
If you did not specify these addresses, type them 

in the appropriate boxes. 

h.  Click 

Save

.

To reboot

After you complete the Setup utility, you must 
reboot the WANJet appliance from the command 
line. To reboot, use a terminal emulator program 
(if you are working locally using a serial console 
connected to the WANJet appliance) or an SSH 
program. Log on to the WANJet appliance and run 
the

 reboot 

command.

When the reboot has finished, you need to log on 
again to continue using the browser interface.

7 Complete the WANJet 300 appliance setup  

Log on to the appliance remotely through the browser interface, and use the Setup utility to activate the  
license and complete the setup, as follows. For more detailed information, click the Help tab or refer to the  

WANJet

8 Configure the WANJet 300 appliance

Use the browser interface, called the Configuration utility, to configure the WANJet appliance, such as adding 
remote WANJet appliances, setting up optimization and QoS policies, and creating static routes. For more
