cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring
or its own cord.
Cutting accessory contacting a
“live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the
power tool “live” and could give the operator an
electric shock.
f
Switch off the power tool immediately when
the tool insert jams. Be prepared for high re-
action torque that can cause kickback.
The tool
insert jams when:
The power tool is subject to overload or
It becomes wedged in the workpiece.
f
Do not mix food.
Power tools and their accesso-
ries are not designed for processing food.
f
Keep the cord away from the working area.
The
cord may be entangled by the stirrer paddle.
f
The mixing container must be suitable for mix
-
ing and must stand securely.
A container that is
not properly secured may move uncontrolled.
f
Ensure that no liquid splashes against the
housing of the power tool.
Liquid that has pene-
trated the power tool can cause damage and lead
to electric shock.
f
Follow the instructions and warnings in the
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) of the
material to be mixed.
Material to be mixed may
be harmful.
f
In the event of a power interruption, release
the locking switch by pressing the on/off
switch.
This will prevent the power tool from re-
starting unintentionally (risk of injury).
f
Do not use the power tool in a stand.
Additional instructions for safety and
prevention of accidents:
f
Ensure that the current voltage specified on the rat
-
ing plate corresponds with the supply voltage.
f
Do not operate the appliance in an environment with
a potentially explosive atmosphere. Do not mix sol-
vents or substances containing solvents which have
a flash point below 21° C.
f
Do not pass cables around any parts of the body.
f
The appliance must always be started up and slowed
down in the mixing container. Ensure that the mixing
container is firmly fixed in position for these opera
-
tions.
f
Do not reach your hands or any objects into the mix-
ing container when mixing is in progress.
f
Wear ear protection.

VIBRATION SAFETY
This tool vibrates during use. Repeated or long-
term exposure to vibration may cause temporary
or permanent physical injury, particularly to the
hands, arms and shoulders.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ANY VIBRATION-RE-
LATED INJURY:
First be examined by a doctor and then have regu-
lar medical check-ups to ensure medical problems
are not being caused or worsened from use. Preg-
nant women or people who have impaired blood
circulation to the hand, past hand injuries, nervous
system disorders, diabetes, or Raynaud’s Disease
should not use this tool. If you feel any symptoms
related to vibration (such as tingling, numbness,
and white or blue fingers), seek medical advice as
soon as possible.
Use tools with the lowest vibration when there is
a choice.
Take vibration-free breaks during each day of work.
Grip tool as lightly as possible (while still keeping
safe control of it). Let the tool do the work.
CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY
Make sure the power supply information on the ma-
chine’s rating plate are compatible with the power
supply you intend to connect it to.
This appliance is Class II* and is designed for connec-
tion to a power supply matching that detailed on the
rating label and compatible with the plug fitted. If
an extension lead is required, use an approved and
compatible lead rated for this appliance. Follow all
the instruction supplied with the extension lead.
*Double insulated: This product requires no
earth connection as supplementary insulation
is applied to the basic insulation to protect
against electric shock in the event of failure of
the basic insulation.
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS
f
Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one
heavy enough to carry the current your product will
draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line
voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating.
f
Always replace a damaged extension cord or have
it repaired by a qualified person before using it.
f
Protect your extension cords from sharp objects,
excessive heat and damp/wet areas.
f
Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This
circuit should be protected with the appropriate
time-delayed fuse. Before connecting the motor to
the power line, make sure the switch is in the OFF
position and the electric voltage is rated the same
as the voltage stamped on the motor nameplate.
Running at a lower voltage will damage the motor.
