Connect the control signal to the socket on the side panel marked
DIGITAL IN
and then from the socket marked
DIGI-
TAL THRU
socket of the next projector.
When a correct DMX signal is present the
SIGNAL LED
near by the display will lit green (DMX OK); when the signal is
not present the
SIGNAL LED
will be off (NO DMX), and if a transmission error occurs the
SIGNAL LED
will be start
blinking (DMX ERROR).
DMX TERMINATION
For all installations having long signal cables or in presence of electrical noise, for example a discotheque, it is recom-
mended practice to use a DMX terminator: this assists in preventing corruption of the digital control signal by electrical
noise. The DMX terminator is simply an XLR connector with a 120
Ω
resistor connected across pins 2 and 3, which is
then plugged into the DIGITAL THRU socket on the last projector in the chain. The connections are illustrated below.
DMX TERMINATOR CONNECTOR
Some DMX device required the termination between pin2 and pin3 on the last device on DMX
chain, so connect a 120 resistor across pins 2 and 3 in an XLR plug and insert into the DIGITAL
THRU socket on the last unit in the chain.
5 - PROJECTOR ADDRESS
The SIRIO II ARGB is controlled with 6 channels. Each projector must be given a digital start address number so that
the correct projector responds to the correct control signals. The digital start address is the channel number from which
the projector starts to “listen” to the digital control information being sent out from the controller. This digital encoding
must be done on each projector.
The SIRIO II ARGB has one very advanced feature: AUTO ID function. It’s means that the SIRIO II ARGB can obtain
its own unique address automatically from the DMX chain without manually address DMX channel. Please refer to the
SETUP MENU
and
SYSTEM DIAGRAM EXAMPLES
section.
6 - SETUP MENU
There are four keypads for setup all the functions that SIRIO II ARGB offers,
MENU
,
UP
,
DOWN
and
ENTER
. Also the
display will shows related information for ease of setup.
There are seven main menus and several sub menus for setup. The main menus shows the setup function for selection
while sub menus are for execute the setup. Please note that the display will blink twice after pressing the
ENTER
key in
the execute menu, this means the desired function is set
.
