SIS Configuration
and Control
The XTP T VGA can be configured and controlled using Extron Simple Instruction Set (SIS)
commands or the XTP System Configuration Software (see
on page 21). This section contains SIS communication details and SIS
commands and responses when connected directly to an XTP T VGA. Topics in this section

Host Device Connection
Use a computer running the Extron DataViewer utility or use a control system to enter SIS
commands. To connect directly to an XTP T VGA, connect the computer to the front panel
configuration port (see

SIS Overview
Host-to-Device and Device-to-Host Communication
SIS commands consist of one or more characters per field. No special characters are
required to begin or end a command sequence. When the XTP T VGA determines that a
command is valid, it executes the command and sends a response to the host device. All
responses from the receiver to the host end with a carriage return and a line feed
(CR/LF =
]
), which signals the end of the response character string. A string is one or
more characters.
Error Responses
When the XTP T VGA receives an SIS command and determines that it is valid, it performs
the command and sends the corresponding response to the host device. If the command is
determined invalid or contains invalid parameters, the receiver returns an error response to
the host. The error response codes are:
E10
= Invalid command
E11
= Invalid preset number
E12
= Invalid port number
E13
= Invalid parameter
E14
= Not valid for this configuration
E17
= Invalid command for signal type
