Replace the grille.

NOTE:

  Wiring is the same for all hanging methods 

where PCC-2 cable is used. If it is not used, the 
2-pole splicing connectors at the speaker should 
be replaced with the provided 3-pole splicing 
connectors.  Refer to 

Speaker Installation and 

Configuration

 for details. 

NOTE:

  Setting the tap switch is the same for all 

installation metnods.

NOTE:

steps 1 through 2

the Mounting Hardware 

section before 

continuing with any of the optional mounting 
methods.

NOTE:

  Be sure to allow extra cable length for the 

structure attachment points

Optional Ceiling Bracket Kit

The optional SMK C SF 26PT Extron Ceiling Bracket Kit 
allows the SF 26PT speaker assembly to be suspended 
from a octagon junction box. The kit consists of two ceiling 
brackets and matching magnetic covers.

1. 

Install and wire an octagon junction box where the 
ceiling bracket is to be attached. 

NOTE:

  The junction box must be attached to a 

permanent structural member of the building 
and be able to support the complete speaker 
assembly including the speaker and cap, cable, 
and the ceiling bracket and cover plate. See the 

Warning

 at the beginning of this guide.

2. 

Route the free end of the PCC-2 cable through the 
ceiling bracket cover

 with the magnetic side of the 

cover facing the ceiling bracket.

3. 

Keeping in mind how much speaker wire and steel 
cable will be required, remove as much of the PCC-
2 cable jacket as necessary such that the end of the 
jacket remains flush with the top of the black center 
grommet

 of the ceiling bracket.

4. 

Route the free ends of the two steel support cables 
through the two ceiling bracket cable locks

. Inserting 

the steel cable through the bottom of the cable lock will 
lock the cable in place. Pressing the cable lock release 
will unlock the cable. 

NOTE:

  A minimum of 1

"

 (25.4 mm) of steel cable 

must protrude from the top of the cable lock.
