6.2.2 Broken Line Detection

ter in a fixed location and one Receiver being used in two locations. On the top diagram, the
Receiver position on the left is detecting a signal, while the Receiver position on the right is
not detecting a signal.
1. Method 1 : Connect both terminals of the transmitter, one to each wire, at
one end of the line. At the other end of the line, connect the wires together.
2. Method 2 : Connect both terminals of the transmitter to each end of a sin-
gle wire in the line.
3. The Receiver can now determine the position of the broken wire in the sig-
nal line in the wall or floor.
