The appliance may be used by children over 8 years old and people with reduced
sensitivity, or a physical or mental disability, as long as they are supervised or have
been instructed in use of the appliance in a safe manner and thus understand the as-
sociated risks.
Children must not play with the appliance.
The appliance may only be cleaned by children over the age of 8 under constant
supervision.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children younger than 8 years old.
Do not connect the appliance using an on/off timer or other equipment that can auto-
matically switch on the appliance.
If the cord becomes damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similar qualified person for safety reasons.
Caution! Parts of the appliance get very hot when in use. Do not touch with bare
hands. There is a risk of burning!
The surfaces of the appliance get very hot when in use. Do not touch the appliance’s
hot surfaces and allow it to cool before cleaning.
Only use wooden utensils on the hotplates to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
Before use
Open the waffle iron.
Wipe the hotplates with a damp cloth and allow them to dry.
Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the hotplates.
Close the waffle iron and plug the appliance in.
Allow the waffle iron to heat up for a few minutes. The appliance may emit a smell
or smoke. This will disappear after a short time.
The waffle iron is now ready for use.
