Loopback Mode
Loopback Mode
: The
Loopback Mode
parameter shall determine at
which layer the address/port swapping is limited. Select the
Loopback
Mode
. Choices are:
UDP/TCP
: Swap MAC addresses, IP addresses, UDP or TCP ports
when present and addressed to unit own MAC/IP. In other words,
swap from Layer 2 up to Layer 4 when present.
IP
: Swap MAC addresses, IP addresses when present and
addressed to unit own MAC/IP. In other words, swap from Layer 2
up to Layer 3 when present.
Ethernet
: Swap MAC addresses when addressed to unit own MAC.
In other words, swap Layer 2 when present.
Ethernet (All Unicast)
: Swap MAC addresses when the address is
unicast, regardless if it is unit’s own MAC or not.
Transparent
: Loopback everything without swapping anything.
By default,
UDP/TCP
will be selected.
Note:
When remote unit is looped up where
Remote Capability
is

Loopback
, the Smart Loopback test runs with loopback mode as
“UDP/TCP” on remote.
Note:
The
Transparent
mode is not intended to be used in switched or routed
networks (i.e. only point-to-point).
