Follow all directions carefully.

Drill two 11/32 in. (8,7 mm) holes through the
boat’s transom on each side of the outboard
using the stern bracket holes as guides.

Apply a good waterproof caulk to bolt shanks.
Insert the bolts through the stern bracket and
transom. Loosen clamp screws and apply
caulk on and around bolts between stern
brackets and transom to keep water out of the
drilled holes.
Retighten clamp screws. Install the large
washers and two of the locknuts on the bot-
tom bolts. Install the small washers and the
other two locknuts on the top bolts. Tighten all
nuts securely.

outboard could result in serious injury,
death or property damage. We strongly
recommend that your Dealer install
your outboard to ensure proper instal-
lation.
WARNING
Even if equipped with clamp screws,
your outboard must be bolted to the
boat to prevent it from “working off the
transom” during operation.

fasteners, use
Evinrude/Johnson

or parts of equivalent strength and
