COM ports 0 and 1, Console port
The DynaGATE 10-12 exposes the COM ports as follows:
l
COM port 0:
/dev/ttyS4
(available on the front panel)
l
COM port 1:
/dev/ttyS3
(available on the front panel)
l
Console port
/dev/ttyS0
(available in the Service Panel)
You need to configure the serial ports mode before they will work.

How to set the RS-232/485 modes
You can configure the serial port mode in the following ways, A or B:
A. Using the
ethsetserial
utility
B. Implementing the
ioctl
in the source code

How to use the ethsetserial utility to configure the COM ports
To set COM port 1 to RS-232 mode, enter the following command:
ethsetserial –p ttyO3 –m232
To set COM port 1 to RS-485 mode, enter the following command:
ethsetserial –p ttyO3 –m485
To see all the available options, enter the following command:
ethsetserial –h
