 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS

4.1

 INSTALLATION AREA AND SAFETY CONDITIONS

During the design phase, it is necessary to define the area where the machine is to be installed, as well as the work operating spaces required

for installation and the useful spaces during the equipment’s working life. All of the necessary requirements fo

r the positioning area were defined

in the previous chapters; besides these, in order to allow those concerned to work properly and easily, it is also necessary to define the spaces
for handling the equipment and consider the number of employees present.

To guarantee operators and other occasional workers the safety criteria, the installation area must be circumscribed and marked off by clear

and

 signs.

4.2

 WATER CONNECTIONS

Members of personnel authorised to operate on the machine are

Special mechanical maintenance technicians

”.

Before making the water connections for water circuit users, it is essential to

wash the pipes

installed, to eliminate any processing residue.

Failure to carry out this operation thoroughly could seriously damage the equipment, particularly the exchanger (evaporator) and pump/s. After
washing, it is necessary to check that there are no leaks; this can be done by loading the water circuit with pressure exceeding the atmosphere
pressure and checking the seal over time.

Check that the mesh filter has been installed in the water line entering the machine.

All of the unit’s connection fittings are identified by special plates, indicating the

inlet / outlet connections of the water circuit.

Water outlet

Being standard, the connection is flanged and its diameter varies depending on the size of the chiller, as shown in the dimensional drawing.  An
accessory that is available on request are the Victaulic

®

connections. Connect the chilled water delivery pipe to the system. The diameter of the

pipe cannot be smaller than the diameter of the connection. Position a shut-off valve on the delivery pipe.

Water inlet

Being standard, the connection is flanged and its diameter varies depending on the size of the chiller, as shown in the dimensional drawing. An
accessory that is available on request are the Victaulic

®

connections. Connect the chilled water return pipe from the system. The diameter of

the pipe cannot be smaller than the diameter of the connection. Position a ball shut-off valve on the return pipe.

Preparing the safety valves (only for the integrated version)

A water side safety valve is provided on all units. This valve is designed for the discharge that is carried outside by a pipe. We therefore suggest
you connect the valve to a pipe whose diameter is no less than the current one, to direct the discharge outside. This pipe must be positioned so
that the discharge cannot cause damage to people or property. It must also be supported adequately so that the valve is free of any weight other
than its own.

Installation must comply with the current safety norms.

When stopping for the winter period, completely empty the hydraulic system of the installed units. If operation is also required during
this period or in low ambient temperatures, anti-freeze mixtures (propylene or ethylene glycol) must be used with percentages suitable
for the environmental conditions.

Always position ball shut-off valves on the water inlet and outlet. If the water is likely to get dirty, also install a Y filter on the water inlet.

For further information, contact the Manufacturer’s Technical Office.

If the User needs to dismantle parts and the procedure is not stated in this manual, it is necessary to request authorisation from the
Manufacturer and ask for the procedure. All assembly/dismantling, carried out by the User, which is not covered in this manual and not
authorised by the Manufacturer, will be considered as tampering, with the risk of compromising the functions and safety of the machine,
leading to invalidation of the guarantee conditions.

All of the units produced by the Manufacturer are tested in the factory.
