Note: These are suggested tension settings only.
Tension settings are affected by:
a) Type and thickness of fabric
b) Needle size
c) Size, type and fiber content of thread
Correct Balance (Fig. 1)
Set each tension dial to the settings shown below and test
sew on a sample of your fabric.
How to Balance
1. When the upper looper thread is too loose: (Fig. 2)
a) Turn the upper looper thread tension dial (orange)
to a higher number.
2. When the lower looper thread tension is too loose:
(Fig. 3)
a) Turn the lower looper thread tension dial (yellow)
to a higher number.
b) Or, turn the upper looper thread tension dial
(orange) to a lower number.
3. When the needle thread is too loose: (Fig. 4)
a) Turn the needle tension dial (blue or green) to a
higher number.
b) Or, turn the upper looper thread tension dial
(orange) to a lower number.
