How to maintain your vacuum cleaner

Make sure vacuum cleaner is turned off and power cord is unplugged.

Check belt. Replace if worn, cut or out of shape.

Avoid touching the motor shaft when checking brush roll or belt.

Maintain brush roll

Motor pulley can become hot with normal use.

Remove hair and threads from brush roll periodically. Do not remove end caps.

How to replace belt

• Step on brush roll pedal to turn brush roll

to OFF position (Fig.1).

• Remove 4 screws from brush roll cover

(Fig. 2).

• Lift off brush roll cover (Fig. 3).

• Remove brush roll and belt. Feed new belt

between two metal pins and push through
frame (Fig. 4).

• Loop belt around motor stem (Fig. 5).

• Insert left end of brush roll first. Make sure

end cap fits into base. Loop the belt
around the right side of brush roll and
insert right end cap into base (Fig. 6).
Make sure it slides into position.

• Press the brush roll ON/OFF pedal to

compress the belt slightly (Fig. 7).

• Rotate brush roll 2 turns to center belt

(Fig. 8).

• Replace brush roll cover (Fig. 9).

• Replace 4 screws (Fig. 10).
