Maintenance

The  Projector,  and  particularly  the  ports  which  come  into  contact  with

the  film  must  be  kept  scrupulously  clean.  To  facilitate  cleaning  of  the

film  gate,  the  lens  mount  can  be  pulled  well  clear  to  the  right  by

swinging round the lever

G

(Fig. 8). The gate and the interchangeable

lens should be cleaned from time to time with a soft cloth or brush. the

film gate must also be cleaned of any dust or particles of film wich may

have  remained  there,  by  means  of  a  small  piece  of  wood.  On  no

account,  however,  should  one  use  for  this  purpose  any  kind  of  metal,

which might scratch the film gate, thus causing damage to the film. The

Projector should be oiled regularly after projection of about 3000 feet of

film.  We  recommend  the  use of an oil  free of any  acid or  residues,  of

medium thickness, 6-8 E/50°C (such as e.g. Shell Tellus 41, Mobil DTE

extra  heavy,  Hyspin 140). The  arrows in  Fig.  11  show  the  spots to  be

lubricated. On the Projector itself they are marked by

red

 points.
