• Stand on the left side of the mower, lift the handle to the vertical

(see picture 1), pull the retaining rod outward to present its opening

to the pin and engage it (see picture 2).

• Move the handlebar to the desired height depending on your height

(3 positions available) (see picture 3) and fold the locking lever

forward (see picture 4).

Keep your fingers away from the joints to avoid injury.

There must no be any play in the handelbar

attachment.

Place the starter cord in its guide located in the right-hand sleeve of

the handlebars (see picture 5). The starter cord must always be held

in its guide.

ENGINE PREPARATION

CAUTION!

Petrol is highly inflammable.

• Do not smoke while filling with petrol. The tank should always be

filled with the engine switched off.

• Never remove the fuel tank cap while the engine is running.

• If petrol has been spilt, do not try to start the motor. Take the

machine away from the spoiled area and make sure there is no form

of ignition if the petrol vapour is not dispersed.

• Put the fuel tank cap and the fuel can properly.

• Avoid fuel overflow while filling the fuel tank. In spite of these

precautions should it happen, please :
a) Clean, as good as you can, all the contaminated parts.

b) Don’t start the machine as long as you’re not sure that all the

spilt fuel has been eliminated.

Petrol is highly flammable. Do not smoke while filling with

petrol.

Never add oil to the petrol.

BEFORE START THE ENGINE

ENGINE OIL

For transport-related reasons, the casing of your mower does not

contain oil. Never run an engine without oil even for short periods of

time.
Before starting the engine, fill it up with oil. Use excellent oil quality

(class SF, SG, SH or SJ and viscosity SAE 30 or 10W30).
• Place the mower on a horizontal and unencumbered area.

• Clear the dipstick area of any debris.

• Remove the gauge

 and slowly pour oil.

• Check the oil level : wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth, put it back

in the filler neck and place the plug on the tube without screwing it.

Take off the gauge and check the oil level (see picture 6).

• The oil must reach the [FULL] mark. Top up if necessary.

• In the event of excess oil, remove the surplus. Do not fill the oil

sump beyond the upper mark on the dipstick.

• Screw the filler neck cap firmly before starting the engine.

• Then fill-up with unleaded fuel. Use only «fresh» fuel.

• Only buy the quantity of fuel you can use within 1 month.

Fuel is highly flammable : do not smoke when filling.

7• OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Always stop the engine before making the adjustment.

• To increase the cutting height, turn the adjustment lever towards the

+ mark.

• To reduce the cutting height, turn the lever in the opposite direction

towards the - mark.

A digital indicator placed on the left-front wheel shows the value of

the cutting height in millimetres.

• Pre-set the cutting height according to the height of the grass to be cut.

• Adjust the cutting height setting according to the mowing condi-

tions (see picture 7).
If the grass to be cut is very dense or wet, the cutting height will

need to be raised.

STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE

AND THE CUTTING BLADE

- Make sure that the blade is well mounted and tightened and make

sure that the handlebars are securely locked.

- Always fill the fuel tank outdoors, and do not smoke during the

operation.

- Never leave the engine in a closed room.

- Start the mower on a clear area. Never tilt it to start or when the

blade is rotating.

- Check that the engaging handle (drive) is in the released position.

• Open the fuel tap (see picture 8a).

• Place the throttle lever on START (the choke valve will shut

  automatically) (see a picture 9).

• Slowly pull on the starter handle until you feel a compression.
