READ THIS FIRST:

Check the pack and make sure you have all of the 

parts listed on the front of this booklet. If not, 

contact the outlet where you bought this product.

This fitting must be installed by a competent person 

in accordance with the Building Regulations making 

reference to the current edition of the IEE Wiring 

Regulations (BS7671). 

As the buyer, installer and/or user of this product 

it is your own responsibility to ensure that this 

spur or socket is fit for the purpose for which you 

have intended it. Eterna Lighting cannot accept 

any liability for loss, damage or premature failure 

resulting from inappropriate use.

Suitable for indoor use only.

Do not attach to surfaces which are damp, freshly 

painted or otherwise electrically conductive (e.g. 

metallic surfaces).

Make connections to the electrical supply in 

accordance with the following code:

Live - Brown or Red 

Neutral - Blue or Black 

Earth - Green and Yellow

When making connections, ensure that the terminals 

are tightened securely and that no strands of wire 

protrude. Check that the terminals are tightened 

onto the bared conductors and not onto any 

insulation.

This product must be connected to Earth.

You are advised at every stage of your installation 

to double-check all electrical connections you have 

made. After you have completed your installation 

there are electrical tests that should be carried out: 

these tests are specified in the Wiring Regulations 

(BS7671) referred to in the Building Regulations.

INSTALLATION:

SINGLE FUSED RCD SPUR

Connect the wiring from the mains supply to the 

terminals marked “

LINE

”. See diagram opposite.

Connect the wiring from your appliance to the 

terminals marked “

LOAD

”. See diagram opposite.

TWIN UNSWITCHED RCD SOCKET

Connect your mains supply wiring to the terminals 

according to the colour code above. Note that 

earth connections may be made to either or both 

terminal(s) marked “E”. See diagram opposite.

 

OPERATION:

01.   Restore the mains power (after installation).

02.   Press the green reset button and check that the 

indicator window has turned red.

03.  (For every use) Press the 

TEST

 button.

04.   Check that the indicator window has turned 

white.

05.   Press the reset button and use as a normal 

socket. 

SPECIFICATION:

•   Maximum operating load: 13A resistive, 3A 

inductive.

•   Mechanically latched (no need to reset after power 

loss).

•   Responsive to both positive and negative cycles.

•  Trip speed less than 40ms.

•  30mA trip current.

•  RCD contact break: double pole.

NOTE:

 unit will trip if the live and neutral input is 

reversed and if neutral and/or earth connections are 

lost. The unit will also react to pulsating earth fault 

currents.
