ES595.1

User Guide
22
The "Wake Up" function can be configured in the web interface of the ES595.1
(see chapter 6.4 on
34).
5.4
Module Network
The ES595.1 module provides one downstream Ethernet interface for further
modules. Large blocks of measurement and interfaces modules can be cre
-
ated as the modules can be cascaded.
5.5
Time Synchronization
The modules provide a global clock pulse to compare the measurement chan
-
nels in a module network.
Modules connected to the HOST interface can synchronize the ES595.1 (SYNC-
IN). If no synchronization signal is received at the HOST interface, the ES595.1
acts as master module for synchronization.
The time synchronization unit of the ES595.1 master synchronizes the con
-
nected modules via the Ethernet lines. The synchronization signal is relayed to
connected modules at the ETH1 interface (SYNC-OUT). The slave modules
adapt to the clock pulse specified by the master module.
The periodic synchronization signal is superimposed onto the Ethernet signals
without affecting data transfer. This excludes the possibility of a phase shift
between the individual measure signals, even when measurements are taken
from different modules.
The data of all connected modules of the ES4xx, ES51x and ES6xx lines is
acquired synchronously (ETAS device synchronization).
5.6
ETK Interface (ETK)
The ES595.1 has one ETK interface which is routed to a 4-pin ETK connector
(Lemo socket) on the front panel. The interface is galvanically isolated from the
other interfaces of the ES595.1.
The ETK interface of the ES595.1 supports the ECU application via the emula
-
tor test probe (ETK).
NOTE
The Ethernet adapter of the connected PC has to be configured accordingly
for it to be able to send link pulses.
NOTE
Please note that the ES595.1 does not support all connected ETK types (see
chapter 8.9.4 on
52). Take a look at the ETAS website for detailed infor
-
mation on the ETKs supported by the ES595.1.
