Normal Operating Mode
To activate the ”Normal” operating mode
• Press the ”AUTO / ON” switch.
The device is switched to ”Normal” operating
mode and the status LED inside the switch is
lit.
The power supply of the VME backplane is
activated.

Using a Battery Pack
After the ES1050.1 Battery Pack has been mounted on the ES1000.3 Housing
(see section 3.2 on page 18), the ES1000.3 system can be supplied with power
by the battery pack.
The ES1000.3 takes its power from the battery pack either
• automatically when the input voltage drops below the permissible rate
of the ES1000.3 Power Supply (buffer function) or
• by switching it on in standalone operation.
Only ”Normal” mode is possible in standalone battery pack operation.
Powering On
To power on during battery pack operation
• Press the switch on the front of the battery
pack.
• Keep the switch pressed in.
• Press the ”AUTO / ON” switch.
The ES1000.3 Power Supply is powered on
and is supplied with power by the ES1050.1
Battery Pack.
Note
In standalone battery pack operation, the remote interface cannot be used
to power on/off the ES1000.3 Power Supply.
