Check CSM connection
The Cordless System Manager software installed on a PC requires a connection to the maintenance
port on the Cordless System Central Unit (IC-CU_) or to the CPU-D4, either to the maintenance port or
via modem. Off-line menus include functions that do not require this connection. Go to the directory in
which the Cordless System software has been installed. In most cases, you can start the Cordless Sys-
tem software by just typing DCT <Enter>.
Typing DCT /B<bit rate>. Example: DCT /B9600. This option allows you to change the bit rate with the
Desk Charger/Programmer. This may be useful when you want to down-load software to portables with
a higher (non-default) bit rate. Valid bit rates are: 4800 (default), 9600, 19200 and 38400. Consult your
PC documentation to check which bit rates are supported for the COM2 port.
When the program has correctly started-up the welcome menu is displayed.
If there is no communication with the Cordless System the message ’No connection with DCT1800.
Start Off-line program? Y (Yes/No)’ is displayed. By pressing the <Enter> key the Off-line program is
started. If you want the connection with the Cordless System you must now check the connection
between the PC and the Cordless System and then select N(o). If communication has not been
established yet, the following message ’Waiting for DCT1800 response...’ is displayed. If there is still no
communication with the DCT1800 system the message ’No connection with DCT1800. Do you wish to
continue? (Yes/No)’ is displayed.
When the communication is established the message ’Loading data from DCT1800, please wait...’ is
displayed.
If the Cordless System has been initialized before with a version of the Cordless System Manager older
than revision R6, the message ’WARNING: SPU-S parameters not initialized yet. <Enter>’ is displayed.
If so, do not forget to execute the ’Restore country data’ command.
