Always install the smoke detector in the
middle of the ceiling. The only exception to
this is attic spaces with sloping ceilings
that run into an apex. In this case, do not
position the smoke detector in the apex
itself.
Attention: The smoke detector should ide-
ally be installed on a corbel or roof beam.
Installation

Detach the mounting plate by rotating it
anti-clockwise.

Select an installation location. Use the
mounting hole to mark the drilling posi-
tion with a pencil.

Drill one or two holes and insert the
dowels included in the scope of delivery.

Screw the mounting plate in place.

Place the smoke detector on the mount-
ing plate and rotate it clockwise until it
audibly engages with the plate.
Commissioning

Now start your SmartHome user soft-
ware and go to SEARCH MODE.

Following installation the smoke detec-
tor performs a self-test. During this
period the colour of the LED changes
from red via green to orange.

After the self-test the smoke detector
enters into standby mode for the next 15
seconds. The LED will flash green during
this period.

Briefly press the button during this
period to integrate the smoke detector
in your SmartHome system. If you wish
to integrate the smoke detector in your
SmartHome system later on, first remove
the smoke detector from the mounting
plate and then re-engage it with the
plate to enter into standby mode.

Drag the device icon into the room
where the smoke detector is installed.

Follow the instructions in the popup win-
dow and press the button briefly once
again.

If the device icon remains greyed out
after the smoke detector has been inte-
grated, press the button again to com-
plete the process.
