Note:

For printers connected through the USB interface, the USB device 
driver installation starts automatically at this point. If a dialog box 
appears asking whether you wish to restart your computer, click 

Yes

. After restarting the computer, you need to check your printer 

port configuration. See “Ensuring that the USB driver is installed 
correctly” later in this section.

6. When installation is complete, click 

OK

Note:

Installation time varies depending on your computer system.

The printer driver is now installed on your computer. The 
installation program automatically selects this printer as the 
default printer for Windows applications.

Before using the printer driver, read the README file located on 
the printer software CD-ROM. For more information on using the 
printer driver, access online help in the printer driver.

Ensuring that the USB driver is installed correctly

Use the following procedure to confirm that the USB driver is 
installed correctly:

1. Click the 

Start

 button, point to 

Settings

 and click the 

Printers

 

folder. Make sure the icon for the printer appears in the 
Printers folder.

2. Click the printer icon, and select 

Properties 

from the File menu.
