Disassembly and Assembly
Adjustment Required
When you install the print head, perform theplaten gap motor value (platen gap)
adjustment described in Chapter 4.
Replacing the ROM
You
can replace the ROM without disassembling the printer.
Caution
It is best to remove the top cover beforeyou tilt buck theprinter us described in the
steps
below. Refer to
Removing the Top Cover for
instructions.
If you tilt buck theprinter with the top cover attached, be careful not to put too much
weight on the top cover or any other printer components.
Spread a thick, soft cloth under theprinter before you follow the steps below.
Remove the ROM carefully to avoid damaging the board.
Beforeyou install a new ROM, check the index murk on the socket to be sure the ROM
is oriented correctly. Insert the ROM carefully to avoid damaging the ROM pins and the
board.

Tilt back the printer and lay it on its back. Hold the top cover closed if it is not
removed.
2.
Remove the CBB (M3 x 10) screw securing the ROM cover, remove the cover,
and replace the ROM using the ROM holder.
