General troubleshooting
Whenever possible, when splitting the VGA signal, use an active
VGA splitter rather than a passive VGA splitter (also called a Y-
adapter). This will help maintain a cleaner video signal.
If included in the Frame Grabber package, always use the power
adapter to ensure the Frame Grabber is receiving sufficient
power. All Frame Grabbers function best if the included power
adapter is connected to the Frame Grabber and to a power outlet.
Troubleshooting USB Frame Grabbers
If the capture application cannot find the USB Frame Grabber:
• Confirm that the USB Frame Grabber is connected to a video
capture workstation USB port and has power connected and
the device’s LEDs are lit.
• Disconnect and re-connect the USB Frame Grabber. This
prompts Windows to install the device drivers for the Frame
Grabber if they haven’t already been installed.
• Observe the behavior of the Frame Grabber LED indicators.
See
“USB Frame Grabber LED indicators” on page 18
for LED
information.
