Note:
The base unit must be unlocked before you can perform any of the maintenance tasks in this chapter.
Locking and Unlocking the EA800
The base unit is normally locked. When locked, it cannot be programmed and certain maintenance features, such
as
PERFORMANCE
, cannot be accessed. Locking restricts access to these features to authorized personnel only. If
left unlocked, the base unit locks automatically after a period of inactivity.
The current state of the EA800 is indicated by the text above the

soft key when the home screen is displayed:

When
UNLOCK
is displayed, the base unit is
locked
. Press
F1,
use the
PREV
and
NEXT
soft keys to advance
the cursor to the next digit, and use the arrow keys to enter the value for the password. The default password
is
0800
.
■
When
LOCK
is displayed: The base unit is currently
unlocked
. Press
F1
to lock it. The base unit locks
automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity
