12. Unsupported Configurations
The following configurations are not supported by the Energate Pioneer (PCT) thermostat.
12.1 Heat Pump with two or more additional (auxiliary) stages
The Energate thermostat only supports one additional stage of heating in addition to two heat
pump stages. In a situation where there are two or more additional stages of heating in addition
to the heat pump stages, it is recommended to wire in the auxiliary stage which is most desired to
be used. The other auxiliary stages will not be used.
12.2 Multi Zone Thermostats
Please note that individual Energate thermostats do not support multiple zones. As a result,
multi zone functionality must be implemented using a zone controller such as a zoning panel or a
separate thermostat must be used per zone.
12.3 Proprietary Communication Protocols between HVAC Equipment and
Thermostats
Several manufacturers use various proprietary communication protocols to communicate
between the thermostat and HVAC Equipment such as Carrier Infinity, Bryant Evolution and the
fully modulating Ruud/Rheem systems. Unless otherwise noted, those communication protocols
are not supported by Energate.
12.4 Line Voltage Systems
Electric baseboards and other systems that use 120 volt or 240 volt power are not supported.
Only 24 volt HVAC systems are supported.
