The engine should never run without the air filter; excessive piston and/or cylinder wear may result.

Never use kerosene or gasoline while smoking or in the vicinity of an open flame.

open the air filter cover.
1.
Dispart the filter element.
2.
Wash the sponge with kerosene or gasoline,
3.
then dry it.
soak the sponge in engine oil, then squeeze
4.
the oil out of the sponge.
Put the air filter back in place.

Loosen the clip and remove
the air cleaner housing.
