3.3.8 Installing the measuring sensors Prosonic Flow W
(single path Insertion version)
1. Determine the installation area (e) on the pipe section:
– Installation location: Page 14
– Inlet/outlet runs: Page 16
– Space required by the measuring point approx. 1x pipe diameter.
2. Mark the middle line on the pipe at the mounting location and mark the position of the first
drillhole (drillhole diameter: 65 mm).

Note!
Make the middle line longer than the drillhole!

3. Drill the first hole, e.g. with a plasma cutter. If the wall thickness of the pipe is unknown,
measure it at this point.
4. Determine the sensor distance.

Note!
To determine the sensor distance use:
– the “Sensor Installation” Quick Setup menu if the measuring device has a local operation.
Use the Quick Setup as described on Page 64. The sensor distance is shown in the SENSOR
DISTANCE function. The transmitter has to be installed and connected to the power supply
to carry out the “Sensor Installation” Quick Setup.
– the procedure described on Page 67 ff. if the measuring device has no local operation.
