Installing LP Gas Tank
This fireplace is designed to operate with a
1 lb . / 16 .4 oz . propane gas tank (DOT 39
Cylinder) (Figure 1) .
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REFILL ANY 1 lb.
(16.4 oz.) PROPANE GAS TANKS!
Connect LP Gas Tank
Only cylinders marked “propane” may be
used.
Note
: Some 1 lb cylinders may form frost
when near empty .
1 . Before connecting, be sure there is no
debris caught in the head of the LP gas
tank, head of the regulator valve or in
the head of the burner or burner ports .
2 . Make sure the control knob is in the
“ OFF” position (Figure 7) .
3 . Lubricate the threads of the regulator
with petroleum jelly . Line up threads on
LP gas tank with regulator .
4 . Remove door (Figure 2) .
5 . Insert LP gas tank (Figure 2) .
6 . Rotate LP gas tank clockwise until they
fit snugly together . HAND TIGHTEN ONLY .
Be careful not to crossthread when
screwing in tank (Figure 3) .
7 . Perform leak test per “Checking for
Leaks” section .
8 . Replace Door .
Disconnect LP Gas Tank
1 . Turn the control knob to the “ OFF”
position (Figure 7) .
2 . Remove door (Figure 4) .
3 . Rotate LP gas tank counterclockwise
until it is loose (Figure 5) .
4 . Remove LP gas tank (Figure 4) .
5 . Store the LP gas tank in a proper
location, per LP gas tank instructions .

CAUTION: LP gas tank must
be properly disconnected and
removed prior to moving this
outdoor fireplace.
6 . Place the protective cap cover on the
LP tank and store the tank outdoors
in a well ventilated area out of direct
sunlight .
7 . Replace Door .

To complete assembly you will need:
• (1) Leak detection solution (instructions on how to make the
solution are included in the “Operating Instructions” section of
this manual) .
• (1) 16 .4 oz LP gas tank (not included) .
Typical assembly is approximately 5 minutes .

Place Lava Rocks

CAUTION: Do NOT dump lava rocks out of package. Carefully
place lava rocks by hand so dust does not clog burner.

CAUTION: Use only Blue Rhino Global Sourcing, Inc. factory-
authorized lava rock. The use of any lava rock that is not
factory-authorized can be dangerous and will void your
warranty.

CAUTION: Do NOT cover igniter cover.
Note: Lava rocks should be 0 .8-2 .0 in . (2-5 cm) long . Approx . 2 .6 lbs . (1 .2 kg) of
lava rocks are needed .
