ACE 4000 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TOOL OPERATION
1. Set rail to be clipped on top of tool
anvil
(f)
. Check for a good fit:
Max rail height : 1-3/4 “ (44.5mm).
Min rail height: 5/8 “ (15.9mm).
There should be 1/8” (3.18mm) of
clearance between the rail and the
side plate cutout edge

above it.
To raise or lower the anvil to the right
height, depress the blue button on
the end of the quick release pin
(H)
.
Remove pin. Position the anvil as
needed so rail is at the right clipping
height. Select opening in side plate that aligns best with one of the
two openings in the anvil, and slide the pin in.
2. Squeeze trigger
(I)
to install clip.
UNLOADING CLIPS
fIRST, DISCONNECT AIR.
Then depress latch under pusher to release
forward pressure on clips. Slide clips towards back of tool and lift out
of magazine.
TO GET STARTED
1. Install a ¼” NPT fitting (not
included) into air inlet opening
in the back of the housing, using
suitable thread sealant.
DO NOT REMOVE RED PLUG
LOCATED ABOVE THIS OPENING.
2. Use suitable coupler to connect
air hose to fitting as shown at
right. Recommended air supply
is 80-90 psi (5.5–6.2 bar) of dry,
lubricated air.
ACE clipping tool air consump-
tion (SCFM), assuming 90 psi
and 1 cycle per second, is 3.56.
Assuming 80 psi and 1 cycle per second, SCFM is 3.22.
BEfORE fIRST USE AND RECOMMENDED
DAILY MAINTENANCE
Add 2-3 drops of air tool oil
(10-weight recommended) to
air inlet hose fitting
(A)
and
openings between the side
plates at these two locations:
• in the gap at the back of the
top plate and the housing
(B)
• the opening on the front
plate
(C)
, as shown on
affixed label
LOADING CLIPS
1. Connect air supply to air inlet hose fitting
(A)
, keeping fingers and
hands away from blade and anvil area.
2. Pull pusher
(D)
back until it latches at the end of clip magazine
(E)
.
Feed clips into magazine until they stop against the tool blade.
3. Secure clips in place by depressing pusher latch on underside
of magazine.

DISCONNECT AIR.
REMOvE CLIPS fROM TOOL.
1. Depress pin
(J)
at top of front plate
(K)
; slide plate up and remove.
2. Swing blade
(L)
from tool and align link pin
(M)
with holes in side
plates. Remove pin through holes and remove blade.
3. Lubricate new blade.
4. With new blade at 90° angle, align blade hole with links (Part #30019)
and side plate holes on both sides. Insert link pin
(M)
through aligned
holes to secure blade. Firmly strike blade face to swing back into
original position.
5. Re-lubricate front plate. Depress pin
(J)
and slide front plate
(K)
down
until pin returns to extended position, securing plate in place.
ANvIL
:
DISCONNECT AIR.
REMOvE CLIPS fROM TOOL.
1. Remove lower shoulder screw
(N).
2. Remove anvil
(O)
and replace.
